SemperCon has Collaborated with RTP Holdings to Create the First Public Demo App of “the Lokita Solution”, for Today’s Submission to the PACT Wayfinding App Challenge

June 17, 2015, PHILADELPHIA, PA – RTP Holdings, a Philadelphia based early-stage technology company, today submitted a new mobile app demo system for the PACT Wayfinding App Challenge. PACT, the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies, is the region’s largest information technology, clean technology, and life sciences trade association providing comprehensive support for emerging growth companies by facilitating interaction, information and education. This year, PACT partnered with Independence Blue Cross (IBC) and the University of Pennsylvania to create a two-part-competition series connecting the best app developers with forward thinking Philadelphia enterprises, to help create new businesses benefiting healthcare, higher education, and government. Finalists will compete for $90,000 in prizes by presenting their entry to a live judging event, open to the public, on June 29th, 2015.

RTP Holdings’ first public Demo App of its Lokita SolutionTM is powered by SemperCon, and beautified by Organic Grid. SemperCon collaborated with RTP Holdings on app development and backend integration on a demo called the @UPennEXP. SemperCon’s extensive experience with geo-location technologies, mobile app development, and geo-fencing solutions, made for an ideal scrum team model, and partnership approach, on this very fast paced demo system development effort.

PACT is hosting the Wayfinding App Challenge to create wayfinding apps that help visitors and members of the Penn community navigate and learn about Philadelphia and the Penn campus. “We’ve come up with an exceptionally unique ‘@U EXP’ mobile solution for the greater Penn and broader Philadelphia tourism and hospitality community,” said Chet Dagit, Founder and Managing Director of RTP Holdings. “Our position-enabled mobile app framework makes it easy for community groups to quickly stand-up and grow-to-scale personalized mobile apps that democratize services like Foursquare and Yelp, and improve on them with a Search Nearby feature that works both indoors and outdoors using geo-location, geo-fencing, and wireless beacon capabilities. I really believe ‘Team Lokita’, with SemperCon and Organic Grid, represents the digital dream team for this competition and similar projects in the future!”, Dagit added enthusiastically.

The “@UPenn Xperience” use geo-fencing techniques amplified with augmented-reality to enhance discovery, exploration, and visual navigation of the campus and the city. It helps students, faculty and visitors find their favorite places, and locate friends fast, with the Search Nearby feature. The demo app helps people discover the campus and all of the great attractions the city of Philadelphia has to offer with turn-by-turn navigation, and step-by-step information about the featured art and points-of-interest, both inside and outside, along the way. The app framework is designed for integration with Open APIs from popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter, so Search Nearby also shows the places your friends have favorited, and the hot spots that are trending based on where your friends are, or have recently been.

The competition is coordinated through ChallengePost.com, and all competitive submissions can be seen and voted on by the general public here. The final live judging event will be open to the public in Center City Philadelphia at The Center for Health Care Innovation at Independence Blue Cross on June 29th.
